Now What?

I am as unhappy as anyone about the current politics but I believe this is the bottom line and would never support violent acts. Remember Jesus and the ear of the high priest’s servant, Malchus.

Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.   For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.   And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. 1 Jn 2:15-17

What a difficult prospect, that we are to be in the world but not of the world. This wonderful creation of the Almighty, though perfectly designed, has a flaw. Read the rest of this entry »

Just Thinking

As I sat at the Azle Keepers of the Promise meeting this morning I heard a very thought provoking point.   The speaker mentioned an email he had received titled “We didn’t Start this Fire”.   The main point of reference was the current political dilemma which we “Conservatives,” find ourselves in.  As I listened though the Holy Spirit began to speak something very clear to my spirit. This reference to fire brought to mind the forest fires which seem to always be a problem in the far west. Read the rest of this entry »

Liberty

The question of liberty has been with us for a long time and it seems we are no closer to an answer today than we have ever been.  Is it good that people should be free to say and think what they will without fearing retribution from their peers or the government under which they choose to live?  In fact one might even ask if it is possible? Why Reform

Well it has been a long time coming but I am finally ready to go on with this blogging thing. Today I would like to discuss reform. Not just reform in the way that the Church holds service but reform of every part of how the Church works in each of us.

The first question coming to my mind is…

1. What is Reform and why do we need it?
That is a very good question and one that I believe needs some explanation. Re-anything means that it must be done over or done again, “Replant” means to plant again,”Rebuild” to build again, therefore “Reform” is to again establish the previous form. Read the rest of this entry »
