Whom Shall I Fear?

Posted by: admin In: Courage|Peace|Security

NOTHING CAN SEPARATE US FROM GOD’S LOVE!!
What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us? Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else?

Who dares accuse us whom God has chosen for his own? No one—for God himself has given us right standing with himself. Who then will condemn us? No one—for Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us, and he is sitting in the place of honor at God’s right hand, pleading for us.  Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? (As the Scriptures say, “For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.”*) No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.
And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,* neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.  Ro 8:31-39

Truly amazing scripture when you think of it. Everything that is going on in our world today is really no different than what was faced by those who have believed for many generations. Here is our instruction not to fear. Think of it for a moment. How many of the things in your own life today would fit in one of these categories? How much of our anxiety would be relieved if we lived in the light of these great truths?

Nothing can separate me from the love of God.   Now that is good news. No matter what comes over the news channel today I have a promise from God that nothing can separate me from him. Notice there is no need to try to deny that this life will bring trouble in order to give us courage. Only the clear light at the end of the journey is necessary for us to feel secure. We indeed do not have control of where our lives will take us, through the fire, through the river, through the valley of the shadow of death. in fact even through death itself.

The Lord has promised good to me, his word my hope secures. He will my strength and portion be as long as life endures!

What great lyrics and what great truth!!
God Bless!!

Now What?

.

I am as unha ppy as anyone about the current politics but I believe this is the bottom line and would never support violent acts. Remember Jesus and the ear of the high priest’s servant, Malchus.

Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.   For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.   And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. 1 Jn 2:15-17

What a difficult prospect, that we are to be in the world but not of the world. This wonderful creation of the Almighty, though perfectly designed, has a flaw. Read the rest of this entry »

Just Thinking

Posted by: admin In: Authority|Society

As I sat at the Azle Keepers of the Promise meeting this morning I heard a very thought provoking point.   The speaker mentioned an email he had received titled “We didn’t Start this Fire”.   The main point of reference was the current political dilemma which we “Conservatives,” find ourselves in.  As I listened though the Holy Spirit began to speak something very clear to my spirit. This reference to fire brought to mind the forest fires which seem to always be a problem in the far west. Read the rest of this entry »

Liberty

Posted by: admin In: Authority|Law|Liberty

The question of liberty has been with us for a long time and it seems we are no closer to an answer today than we have ever been.  Is it good that people should be free to say and think what they will without fearing retribution from their peers or the government under which they choose to live?  In fact one might even ask if it is possible? Why Reform

Posted by: admin In: Reform

Well it has been a long time coming but I am finally ready to go on with this blogging thing. Today I would like to discuss reform. Not just reform in the way that the Church holds service but reform of every part of how the Church works in each of us.

The first question coming to my mind is…

1. What is Reform and why do we need it?
That is a very good question and one that I believe needs some explanation. Re-anything means that it must be done over or done again, “Replant” means to plant again,”Rebuild” to build again, therefore “Reform” is to again establish the previous form. Read the rest of this entry »
